As human beings, none of us can see God neither can we touch him. The only way we can read God’s word is through the Bible which is the word of God.
Over several centuries ago God inspired a selected set of people to write down what He felt we need to know as His children about Him and how He expects us to live our lives. These writings have been collected into this book which is called the Holy Bible because it contains the sacred word of God, just like our diaries which is sacred to us, we don’t leave it laying around.
In a miraculous way, the Bible speaks to each and everyone of us because its truth applies across all generations, across cultures and across all life experiences. Anybody buying a new gadget gets a thick owner’s manual but most of us just read enough to get us running.
For example, if we want to truly understand the computer and what it is capable of, then we must read the entire manual but most people will never do that and thereby missing out on all the computer has to offer. The answers to everything we are asking God for is already in the word of God which is the Bible.
